The drying period depends on factors such as wood species, board thickness, climate, and moisture content. I would avoid assuming that all lumber will be ready for use after the same amount of time.

Maintain a Clean Work Area

Sawdust and wood debris accumulate quickly during milling. I would regularly clear the area around the machine so that material does not interfere with operation.

I would also consider the availability and cost of replacement parts before making a purchase. A machine is much more useful when routine maintenance can be performed without unnecessary delays.

By understanding my logs, preparing the site, planning lumber storage, and budgeting for ongoing maintenance, I can create a practical setup that makes better use of available timber and supports a wide range of future projects.
